Police are appealing for information after a woman’s purse was stolen in Bowthorpe on Wednesday evening.

The woman was walking along the field path between Wilberforce Road and Bishy Barnabee Way at around 7.35pm when a man approached from behind and pushed her to the floor.

There was a struggle and the man ran off towards Wilberforce Road, having taken the woman’s purse.

The woman was left shocked but unhurt.

The man is described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s, of slim build, around six-foot tall with fair hair and was wearing a blue hooded zipped top.

Officers want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the man before or after the robbery, or anyone else with information.

Contact DC Craig Brooke at Norwich CID on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
