A man in his late 30s has died in Lowestoft.

Emergency services were called out yesterday afternoon (Monday), following reports of a man in a vehicle in a street in Lowestoft.

A police spokesman said: 'We were called by the ambulance service about 2.35pm reporting there was a man in a vehicle in Essex Road who was unconscious and not breathing.

'The air ambulance attended but the man was pronounced deceased about 3.20pm.'

The man – who is believed to be aged 39 and from Lowestoft – was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston.

The police spokesman added: 'As is standard procedure the death is being treated as unexplained, pending the result of a post mortem, however there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.'

As well as police, the East of England Ambulance Service and East Anglian Air Ambulance were called out.
