Two guinea pigs have been left without their mother after she was stolen from a north Norfolk animal sanctuary.
Upset staff at the Shire Horse Sanctuary at West Runton are appealing for help after thieves smashed their way into a run and stole Crinkle.
The raid, which happened between 10am and 5pm on Thursday, has left Crinkle’s two babies, Lily and Smithy, on their own.
The organisation’s founder, Wendy Valentine, said: “It happened during working hours. The only thing that we can link to it was when two girls came in and asked where the guinea pigs were - which is unusual, as most people come here to see the horses.
“It makes you wonder what people are going to do next. The girls at the sanctuary are beside themselves.”
Anyone with information can call the sanctuary on 01603 736200.
