Persistent offenders in an area of Norwich where there are high levels of concern about drug-taking and prostitution have been warned they will face prosecution if caught by police.
The issues have long been a concern of people in the Rosary Road area of the city, with a dispersal order - which gives police the power to ban someone from returning to a specified area for up to 48 hours if their behaviour is causing harassment or alarm - put in place over a weekend last month.
A Norfolk Police spokesman said: 'We continue to focus our patrols in the Rosary Road area and will pursue prosecutions against those who persistently commit offences.
'We also work with partners and residents in a bid to tackle the issues surrounding prostitution and drug dealing.
'In October we started issuing warning letters to owners of vehicles seen to be acting suspiciously in the area. If the vehicles are seen in the area again, we then have the ability to charge the suspects straight to court saving time and money in the process.
'Throughout the year, we try different ways to tackle the ongoing issues and are always keen to hear the public's views.
'If you see any suspicious behaviour in the area of Rosary Road, or have information, please contact Norfolk Police on 101.'
