Pedestrian attacked in road rage incident in Downham Market

Police say it happened at about 11.25am on Saturday after a near-miss incident between a pedestrian and vehicle at a zebra crossing in the Tesco car park.

The driver has got out of the vehicle and has verbally threatened the pedestrian before assaulting him. The victim, a man in his late 50s, suffered bruising.

Two members of the public intervened and officers are keen to trace these people as well as anyone else who saw the incident.

A man in his 20s has been arrested and questioned min connection with the attack. He has been released on bail until February 28 for further enquiries.
