A ticket inspector was assaulted while checking tickets on a Great Yarmouth bus.

Norfolk police said the inspector was on the number 8 service on Southtown Road at around 12.40pm yesterday when he challenged a passenger.

The passenger pushed him over and left the bus via the emergency exit. The inspector suffered a sore leg and hip.

Officers want to speak to anyone who was travelling on the bus at the time and may have witnessed the assault, or anyone who was in the area and may have seen the man afterwards.

The passenger is described as a white man in his late 20s, 6ft tall, of slim build with short black hair and wearing a light blue tracksuit top, a white collared shirt, a dark tie, formal trousers and dark formal shoes,
