Police have raided an illegal rave in Thetford Forest and made five arrests.
Helicopter support from Wattisham Airfield was also called to the illicit event in the area of Lynford, believed to have started just after midnight today.
It is thought 400 people and 200 vehicles were in attendance at the rave on Fire Ride 40, close to Grimes Graves.
Officers blocked off access points and monitored proceedings in the early hours, while police looked to shut down the event in a “safe and controlled” manner. It was eventually closed by 12.30pm.
Superintendent Stuart Gunn said: “It continues to be disappointing that people who attend such raves believe that it is acceptable to trespass, cause disruption and damage the forest.
“Unlicensed music events or raves like this one are not only a disturbance to local people, but also very unsafe due to the remote location, closeness to fast roads and intoxication of people attending.
“A mess was left behind here and damage was done to the forest area. Significant police resources were deployed today and several arrests have been made.”
