A Norwich woman is set to face trial charged with 25 arson attacks around the city, including eight of being reckless to endangering life by burning lifebuoys.

A Norwich woman has appeared in court charged with 25 arson attacks around the city, including being reckless as to whether life was endangered by setting fire to lifebuoys.

Jane Durrant, 50, of Barclay Road, Heartsease, is accused of arson attacks on 16 wheelie bins, eight life buoys, a skip, a bench, fence panels and an industrial bin around Norwich during a period from August until January.

There were also two attacks on public toilets owned by Broadland District Council.

The mother-of-two appeared at Norwich magistrates court yesterday and was bailed to appear before Norwich Crown Court on February 6.

She will also appear at Norwich magistrates court on February 10 to face a further charge of wasting police time.
