Norfolk Constabulary have used Twitter to tweet a safety message urging road users to take care in the wet conditions.

It said: “Police warn drivers to be careful and watch for surface water on roads when driving overnight and Monday morning after heavy rainfall”.

A police spokesman said people should allow more time for their journeys because of excess surface water on the roads from the heavy rain.

Other advice includes slowing down in the wet conditions and giving the car in front more space.
