Two batteries used to power electric fences were stolen in Rockland St Mary, sparking a police warning to landowners and farmers.

The first theft happened between 10pm last Thursdayand 4pm on Saturday when a battery energiser was snatched from a field off The Street.

A second battery was stolen from a field off Star Lane sometime overnight last Wednesday.

Norfolk police believe the items were stolen for their scrap value appealed to landowners and farmers to remain vigilant and property mark batteries to make it tougher for criminals to dispose of at scrap sites.

Anyone with information or anyone who would like to get their property marked should contact PCSO Suzi Savory at Poringland Police Station on 101.
