A 46-year-old man has been charged with a series of offences following a disturbance in Saxlingham Thorpe on Sunday.
Police were called to an address in Ipswich Road in the south Norfolk village, near Newton Flotman, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Officers arrived shortly after 4.30am and the man was then detained and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Shaun McPherson, of Hopewell Gardens, Beighton, near Acle, was charged with criminal damage, two counts of affray, possession of 1.56 grammes of cannabis and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
He is accused of damaging plates, knives and walls to the value of £400 and using threatening violence towards others to cause a person to fear for their safety.
McPherson is also alleged to have attempted to cause grievous bodily harm to a police officer and to have been in possession of 1.56 grammes of cannabis.
He was remanded in police custody and appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday, where he was further remanded in custody until Tuesday, September 17, when he will appear at Norwich Crown Court.
