Police are warning businesses to be on the lookout for fake bank notes following reports of their use in Norwich.

Norfolk Police said it had received a report of someone attempting to use fake Scottish notes in the city this evening (Monday, March 5).

It advised businesses - particularly in Norwich - to carefully check any money before accepting payment.

Posting on Twitter, Norfolk Police said: “Calling all businesses, particularly in the #Norwich area - please be aware - we have been alerted tonight of attempted use of potential fake Scottish bank notes in the city. Ensure you check carefully before accepting as payment.”
