A young motorcyclist has died after a crash on the A1065 between Fakenham and Swaffham this morning.
The incident happened at around 7am close to the junction with Low Street, in Weasenham St Peter, and the man who died was in his 20s from the Swaffham area.
A grey Mitsubishi L200 was turning onto the A1065, travelling towards Swaffham, when it was involved in a collision with a red and black Honda 125 motorbike.
Following the initial collision the driver of a black Volkswagen Bora, who stopped to help, was subsequently injured after another vehicle - a silver Ford Mondeo - collided with the wreckage.
A man in his 40s, who was driving the Bora, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn with leg injuries. His condition has been described as stable.
The road was blocked in both directions for just over four hours.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have witnessed the original incident between the Mitsubishi and the Honda.
Anyone with information is urged to contact senior investigator Steve Matthews at Norfolk Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
Supporters of Scottish champions Celtic are in Norwich ahead of the Adam Drury testimonial game tonight.

Another car pull-out victim? I see such shoddy driving daily. Chancers - can't be bothered to wait a few seconds.

i use this road and i also use the very same junction whethis poor rider lost his life. on several occasions i have witnessed cars overtaking on this very junction travelling towards swaffham and i have also witnessed motorcycle riders overtaking as you come past the junction heading towards fakenham. before any judgement is passed its worth noting that when you sit at that junction its hard to see either way due to a roadsign on your right blocking your view and high banks each side making turning from that road onto the a1065 is very very difficult in either direction. yes another wasted life on a road that is well overdue a resurface and improvements. its also worth mentioning that the a1065 is in the top bracket for road related deaths every year and has been for a number of years now. its also one of the busiest a classed roads in norfolk.

Jonny Norfolk. The rider was on a "Honda 125" which means it is restricted to 15bhp, so has a top speed of approx 75mph. The story quite clearly states the car pulled out of the junction in front of the bike. Over 50% of all motorbike accidents are caused by cars.

I regulary use this road, and the speed I am overtaken by bikers ( some) is shocking. I think you should wait for the facts before blaming the car driver.
