A mother was assaulted and punched several times in the head as she pushed her son’s pushchair in Norwich.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault outside Castle Mall between 12.45pm and 1pm on Friday.

The 33-year-old found her path blocked by two women as she approached the mall entrance from White Lion Street.

She said “excuse me” and the women moved out of the way but as the victim walked past they were verbally abusive before assaulting the woman. She suffered minor injuries.

Police believe many people were in the area and would like to hear from anyone with information.

Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
