Police were contacted just after 1pm on Saturday 28 December to reports a man had been found injured in Cordy’s Lane with a gunshot wound to his leg. The 25-year-old from the London area was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment and was discharged on Sunday 29.

Police began extensive enquiries to determine exactly what occurred and this afternoon, Friday 3 January, officers have made two arrests at a home in Trimley St Martin.

Both men – a 27-year-old and a 25-year-old, both from the Felixstowe area – have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and taken into custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where they will be interviewed by detectives.

Officers are continuing to ask anyone with information about the incident or anyone who witnessed the shooting to contact Suffolk Police by dialling 101.
