Antony Crooks, 54, of Western Road, Gorleston, Garry Greensmith, 51, of Hall Road, Blundeston, and Darren Sweeby, 43, of Campion Avenue, Gorleston, appeared at Norwich Crown Court today for a preliminary hearing.

Their appearance comes after each was charged with a count of conspiracy to steal cash of an unknown value belonging to Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

No pleas were entered during the short hearing, although it was indicated that each might be prepared to plead guilty to what they were responsible for.

The case was adjourned until August 26 for a plea and case management hearing.

The defendants were granted bail with conditions, including not to contact each other or any member of staff from the borough council’s parking services, with the exception of Jane Beck, one of the authority’s directors.
