The manager of a landmark Norfolk pub which was destroyed in a fire last week has hit out at the 'low life' who broke into the damaged building last night.
Colin Kilby manager of Breckland Lodge in Attleborough said: 'To the low life that decided to break into the Breckland Lodge tonight, thanks very much, talk about kicking someone when they are down.
'Do you really think we would leave cash in the tills or fruit machines or leave anything valuable in the buildings that are only partially damaged?
'Do we look like idiots?'
Police are investigating the burglary which took place at the venue on London Road sometime between 11pm and 11.30pm yesterday.
The suspect forced entry into the premises and a quantity of soft drinks and alcohol were stolen along with a television.
Mr Kilby added: 'We are gutted with what has already happened and to have this on top is staggering.'
Management at the Breckland Lodge are currently working to create a plan for the pub and hotel's future and last week they said they were 100 per cent committed to reopening the bar.
An investigation into the cause of the fire, which has been ruled an accident, is still under way with Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
