A man suffered a broken arm after being attacked with a metal bar as he walked to the shops in Norwich.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, with happened on Beverley Road between 4.30pm and 5pm on November 17.

The 29-year-old victim was stopped by a male who asked him for a cigarette.

When the victim refused, the man, described as being aged between 25 and 30, attacked him with a metal bar.

Police said the attacker may have been part of a larger group with possibly two other men and two women.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he stayed overnight for treatment to a broken left arm and cuts to the head and back.
