At 3am on Friday, a fight broke out between a group of men outside Mercy nightclub. The victim, a 22-year-old man, was punched in the face, lost consciousness and fell to the floor.

His skull was fractured and he remains in the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where he is being treated.

Two men, aged 20 and 22, have been arrested and were questioned by officers at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.

Both have been released on bail until March 27.

Officers are keen to trace a young woman seen standing outside Mercy just before the incident happened as she may hold important information.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Det Con Andy Vinsen at Norwich CID on 101.
