Steven Eade, 48, of the High Street, is alleged to have called a 999 operator on Sunday and tell her he had a hand grenade and would blow up the police station and made the operator feel the threat would be carried out.

He briefly appeared at Lowestoft Magistrates’ Court and his case will be committed to Ipswich Crown Court when he next appears before magistrates on November 20. Eade was released on conditional bail.
