A 23-year-old Norwich man will appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Friday charged with attempted burglary.

James Vale, of Barnards Yard, was detained by police outside Royal Arcade, in the city centre, at about 4am on Friday, November 16, after police had received reports of a man tampering with the gates to the arcade.

Police questioned and later charged Vale in connection with the incident.

He was remanded in custody to appear before magistrates last Saturday morning, where he was released on bail and ordered to return to court again on Friday, November 23.
