A man has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon and common assault after an altercation at Norwich Market at the weekend.

Bradley Carter, 30, of Regina Road in Norwich, was charged following an altercation involving a knife at a food stall at around 3.30pm on Saturday.

Following his charge the following day, he was detained in police custody and appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court on Monday.

He must return to the Magistrates Court for another hearing on Tuesday next week.
