Police in Hellesdon seized eight mature cannabis plants after carrying out a raid in Boundary Road on last night.

Officers searched a building and discovered the plants along with horticultural equipment which was also seized.

A 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre where he was interviewed.

The man admitted growing the plants and was given a caution.

PC Andy Dye, from the Hellesdon and Horsford SNT, said: “Illegal drug activity will not be tolerated in our community and I would like to reassure residents that information passed to police will be dealt with appropriately and acted on.”
