The 35-year-old was arrested by officers yesterday morning following reports of a robbery in Boatman Way, Bowthorpe, shortly after 9am.

The victim, a woman in her 50s, was pushed to the floor by a man who then snatched her handbag and ran from the scene.

Officers were immediately sent to the scene and a man was detained a short time later in Cadge Road.

The man was arrested in connection with similar thefts which have happened this month, including in Upper Stafford Avenue in Costessey on Saturday.

This also includes thefts in Clarkson Road, off Larkman Lane, on Friday, March 8 and Braithwaite Close, Bowthorpe, this Tuesday.

The man was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and was kept in custody for questioning.
