Officers from the Sheringham Safer Neighbourhood Team worked alongside the dog unit and members of the Special Constabulary to target those using drugs at licensed premises in the town on Friday night (February 8).

The drugs dog identified a number of people who may have been in contact with drugs and eight people were searched.

A 24-year-old man from Holt was arrested and charged with possession of a class A drug, believed to be amphetamine, and he was bailed to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 25.

Another man was issued with a street caution after cannabis was found in his pocket.

Sheringham beat manager PC Ian Smith said: “We will continue to target those using and carrying drugs in and around the town and look forward to welcoming to dog unit back to Sheringham in the near future.”
