Cannabis plants found at the proprty in Hilgay.


Police found 16 cannabis plants and a significant quantity of ground-up cannabis when they raided an address in the village yesterday afternoon.

A range of drug related paraphernalia was also seized mfrom the propertym, on Holts Lane.

A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of drug offences. He has been released on conditional police bail until next month pending further enquiries.

Sgt Marcus Rowe, from Downham Market police, said: “We continue to put pressure on those involved with drugs in and around Downham Market and residents can be reassured information passed to officers will be acted on.”

  • Such a waste of police time and money. Isn't it time we legalised... Harmless plant with medicinal values and we are sending people to already crowded jails for it. Legalising would free up police time, put the profit into legal sellers and not 'gangs' etc. Pointless law.
