Two men have been arrested after a man’s nose was broken in Great Yarmouth in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
The 27-year-old male victim was walking near North Denes Road between 1.30am and 2am when he was attacked.
He was with his female partner and a male friend, and as they rounded the corner from Salisbury Road into North Denes Road a group of four men shouted verbal abuse at them.
Moments later several men ran up to the 27-year-old and assaulted him.
He was taken to the James Paget University Hospital (JPH) with a suspected broken nose and bruising to his face and neck.
Police subsequently arrested two men – a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old – from Great Yarmouth on suspicion of assault.
Both have been bailed to return to officers on February 20 pending further enquiries.
Police are asking anyone who saw any part of the incident to call PC Ben Aldous at Great Yarmouth on 101.
Nearly 3,000 people have supported a Facebook campaign demanding safety improvements on the A47 near Dereham set up after the latest fatal crash.
