POLICE are seeking witnesses after a 26-year-old man suffered a broken jaw after he was assaulted inside a Lowestoft nightspot.

The 26-year-old had been at the bar at the Hush Hush nightclub on the Esplanade about midnight on Saturday, January 5 when he was approached and struck in the face by a man described as white, in his 20s, about 6ft 3ins tall, of stocky build, with short dark hair.

The 26-year-old left the club but woke the next morning with discomfort to his jaw. Several days later he went to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston where his jaw was x-rayed and found to be broken.

He was transferred to the Norfolk & Norwich hospital where he underwent surgery.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault and need to trace the man involved. Information to PC 1324 Sergeant at Lowestoft police on 101.
