Man remanded in custody after being charged following serious assault in Norwich

A 47-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged in connection with a serious assault in Norwich.
Lee Beeston, of Cornwall Close, Rackheath, is accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon (pliers) in a public place.
The charges relate to an incident which happened on Tuesday when officers were called to Quayside following reports a man in his 40s had been assaulted.
The victim suffered cuts to his head and hands and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment.
Beeston appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court this morning where he was remanded in custody to appear by link at Norwich Crown Court on September 11.
