A man jumped out from behind a bus stop and attacked a woman who fell to the ground and injured her face.

It happened on Sheringham High Street, at about 11pm on Wednesday, November 22.

The woman, aged in her early 20s, fell to the ground after a blow to the head and sustained injuries to her ribs and face.

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to Aylsham police investigation centre for questioning. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
