A man in his 60s was left with minor injuries after an altercation with two men who conned their way into his home.

The burglars left empty-handed, following the incident, which happened at about 10.50pm on Thursday, December 8.

Police said a man knocked on the victim’s door in Bridge Road, Stoke Ferry, asking for help to find his dog who had escaped in his garden.

He agreed to help but on returning to his property found a second man inside. Following an altercation, the two men left.

The victim did not require hospital treatment.
