A man in his 40s was assaulted as he walked in the wooded area next to Blue Boar Lane in Sprowston.

He was approached by another man who appeared to be arguing in a foreign language on a mobile phone.

The victim moved to let him pass, and the other man pushed him into a bush. He got up but was then punched by the other man and fell to the floor. Both men then left the area. It happened at about 8.30am on Thursday, February 7.

His attacker was white, of large, muscular build, about 27-years-old, 6ft tall and was wearing dark coloured clothing with a jacket with a lighter stripe across it, a black knitted hat and possibly tracksuit bottoms.

Officers want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the assault or may have seen the male beforehand or afterwards.
