A man who was arrested in a car near to a Norwich flat as part of raids targeting people trafficking and prostitution will be sentenced next month after admitting his involvement.

Officers from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Wiltshire and Devon and Cornwall took part in an operation during which warrants were executed a premises in Norwich, Ipswich, Harwich, Swindon and Tedburn St Mary in Devon.

Five victims of sexual exploitation were located during the raids, carried out in July 2010, and have since been provided with the best possible care.

A sex worker was found at a first floor flat above a business premises in Avenue Road, Norwich, which was raided by police.

Prior to the warrant being executed a vehicle was seen to leave the premises and three people, two men and a woman, within the car were arrested.

Przemyslaw Wegrzynowski, 41, was charged with conspiracy to manage or assist in the management of brothels, no further action was taken against the other man and charges were dropped against the woman.

Wegrzynowski, from London Road, Ipswich, has since pleaded guilty and will be sentenced on Wednesday, August 29.

He will be sentenced alongside five other people who were arrested as part of the operation which also involved the UK Border Agency, the Crown Prosecution Service Complex Case Unit, the UK Human Trafficking Centre and specialist officers from the Serious Organised Crime Agency's (SOCA) Vulnerable Persons Team.

Four of those arrested were on Friday, July 13 found guilty of conspiracy to manage or assist in the management of brothels following a four-week trial at Ipswich Crown Court.

They were: Magdalena Pacula, 23, from The Hawthorns in Stroud, Gloucestershire; Jagoda Kukielka, 26, from Notley Road, Braintree in Essex; Eliza Bryll, 24, from Wells Crescent, Chelmsford in Essex and Alexsander Sochacki, 41, from Oakley Road, Harwich.

Aleksandra Bryll, 29, from Baddow Road, Chelmsford, who was also charged with conspiracy to manage or assist in the management of brothels, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing and will also be sentenced next month.

A spokesman for Suffolk police, which led the operation, said: 'This was a lengthy multi-force/ multi agency operation which has resulted in six people being found guilty of conspiracy to manage or assist in the management of brothels and highlights our commitment to tackling serious and organised crime.'
