A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after police raided a Norwich pub.

Officers from Norfolk Police executed the warrant at The Heartsease Pub, in Plumstead Road, as a result of information received from the public and carried out a search on Friday night.

A 40-year-old man, from Plumstead Road, Norwich, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drug, believed to be cocaine, and has been released on police bail until July 1.

Sgt Duncan Staff, from the Norwich North Safer Neighbourhood Team, who led the operation, said: 'As a result of intelligence received a large number of officers, supported by our partners and additional specialist departments conducted a drugs raid at The Heartsease Public House.'

'The subsequent search led to the recovery of a quantity of Class A drugs, which is believed to be cocaine, and the arrest of a 40-year-old man.'

'This was a successful operation which went without incident and will have a positive impact on the local Heartsease community.'
