They put themselves in harm’s way to help keep us safe and once again this year police officers and staff are to be recognised as part of the Norfolk Safer Community Awards (NOSCAs).

The NOSCAs helps to put the spotlight on police officers, staff and also members of the community who have gone that extra mile to help people living in communities across Norfolk.

The awards, which are now in their 10th year, take place at the Holiday Inn North, near Norwich International Airport on Cromer Road, Norwich tonight (Thursday, October 12).

And as the trophies are presented, Crime correspondent Peter Walsh will be tweeting live to let you know who has won what during the evening.

Categories include Community Officer of the Year, the John (Cecil) Mason Volunteer of the Year, Young Citizen(s) of the Year and Community Citizen(s) of the Year while there will also be bravery and special recognition awards.
