Specialist officers from Suffolk and Norfolk police have been searching the area of the landfill site at Milton in Cambridgeshire, which was identified as holding waste from the Bury St Edmunds area in the relevant time period.

Suffolk police say work is constantly being reviewed and, as the search team are still finding items from the right time frame that are identifiable as coming from the town, the search will continue on a week-by-week basis.

Throughout the search officers have been working to understand exactly where waste was deposited and how it may have been spread out during the process.

This week police will be bulk-moving further material to allow the work to continue.

This is being done to ensure all parts of the relevant area are covered following further detailed and specific work completed around the GPS positioning of the vehicle which brought the waste to the site.

This has led to an expansion of the original search parameters as work continues to locate anything that may help the investigation into Corrie's disappearance.

Around 4,430 tonnes of waste have been searched through to date.

Corrie is a RAF Regiment gunner who was posted to RAF Honington three years ago.

He went missing from the centre of Bury St Edmunds on September 24. No sign of him has been found since.

The last confirmed sighting was at 3.24am, when Corrie passed a CCTV camera as he entered a refuse and loading area behind Greggs, off Brentgovel Street.

Police, RAF police and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue spent thousands of hours scouring the roads, fields and woodlands around Bury and Honington, initially looking into whether he had tried to walk home.

Police were initially told a bin removed from the area Corrie was last seen did not weigh enough to contain a person of Corrie's weight.

However it transpired earlier this year the information was false, and in fact it weighed in excess of 100kg. Corrie's phone was traced along a route similar to that of the bin lorry.

This led to police searching Milton Landfill, near Cambridge, and they about to enter their 12th week of searching.

No trace of Corrie or his phone has been found, despite the landfill search costing in excess of £500,000.

If you have any information relating to the whereabouts of Corrie, phone Suffolk police on 101.
