A 37-year-old man appeared in court today, charged with a string of sex offences against a girl aged under 16, grooming a girl for sex and possessing thousands of indecent or prohibited images.
King’s Lynn magistrates heard Robert Sadd of North Everard Street, King’s Lynn, faces a total of 30 charges.
They include meeting a girl aged under 16 for sex in London on December 16, 2011, after grooming her. Sadd is also charged with making an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child in London on the same date.
Sadd, whose occupation was not given in court, also faces four counts of engaging in sexual acts with a girl, aged 13 - 15. The offences are alleged to have taken place in London, in December 2011.
He is also charged with two counts of inciting a girl, aged 13 to 15, to engage in sexual activity. These offences are alleged to have taken place in King’s Lynn, between November 30, 2011; and January 4, 2012.
Sadd is further charged with 13 counts of possessing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child and three counts of possessing a prohibited image of a child, also at Lynn, on March 13, 2012.
He also faces three further charges of possessing what were described as “extreme pornographic images”, also at Lynn, on March 13.
Two further charges allege that he was found in possession of 7,262 idecent images of children and 9,997 prohibted images of children at Lynn, on the same date. Sadd is also charged with one count of distributing 89 indecent photographs of children on March 13, at King’s Lynn.
Sadd, who spoke only to confirm his name and address in court, did not enter a plea during the five-minute hearing.
Magistrates ruled that due to the seriousness of the alleged offences, they should be tried at Norwich Crown Court.
A the case was adjourned until Friday, December 14. Sadd was given bail until that date on condition that he does not have unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16, with the exception of one named child. A further condition set was that he makes no attempt to contact a different named child.
