Robert Sadd, 37, admitted sexual activity with a a girl as well as causing or inciting the same girl to engage in sexual activity when he appeared at Norwich Crown Court.

He also admitted making indecent photo of a girl aged 15 and possession of 7262 images of children under 13 and 9997 prohibited images of children.

His case was adjourned for a full report before he is sentenced on April 19.

But Judge Stephen Holt warned Sadd of North Everard Street, King’s Lynn, that he “inevitably faced a custodial sentence”.

Sadd, whose occupation was not given in court, was given conditional bail but has to sign on as a sex offender and also will have his Internet use monitored.

He also must not visit any porn site featuring indecent images of children while on bail or have any unsupervised contact with anyone under 16. Sadd also must not make any contact with the victim in the case.

It is understood that the case came to light after Sadd had been in contact over the internet with young girls in America and his case was investigated by the Naval Crime Investigation Service (NCIS) who then liaised with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre CEOPS in Britain and a raid was carried out.

It is also understood that the images seized by police were just a proportion of the huge number of indecent images of children and extreme porn which was in Sadd’s possession and the number is one of the largest in recent times to come before the court in Norwich.

Last night neighbours in North Everard Street, near the centre of King’s Lynn, said they rarely saw Sadd or anyone else visiting his house.

The court heard that Sadd had no previous sex offences.
