Joe Storey, 27, who murdered his former partner Kerri McAuley in a brutal attack in January, was listed in a case before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for the non-payment of a £965 fine imposed in February 2015.

But Storey, formerly of Murrells Court, Norwich, did not attend Wednesday’s (December 6) hearing.

He is currently serving a minimum 24-year sentence after being convicted of Ms McAuley’s murder by a jury at Norwich Crown Court in the summer.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court heard £100 of that fine related to compensation owing to the victim of an assault.

Magistrates ordered that Storey serve 28 days in prison for the non-payment of the fine, although that will be concurrent to his current life sentence.

Also listed for non-payment of fines were Warren Ricardo Blake, 19, and Kristian Tarragan, 31.

Blake, who has failed to pay a £115 fine imposed in April this year, is currently serving a 17-year sentence for the murder of Andrew McGowan, 33, in Great Yarmouth in 2015.

In April Blake, of HMP Aylesbury, was also convicted of two counts of assault against prisoner custody officers in a melee which followed verdicts in the murder trial and given 26 weeks.

On Wednesday, magistrates ordered Blake to serve seven days concurrent to his life sentence for the non-payment of the fine.

Meanwhile Tarragan, formerly of Suffolk Square, Norwich, was listed in relation to the non-payment of a £325 fine imposed in October 2015.

Tarragan was sentenced to eight years in prison in July 2016 after he admitted manslaughter after he stabbed his neighbour Lee Tingle to death in December 2015.

He was ordered to serve 14 days in prison concurrent for the non-payment of the fine.
