A Norwich Crown Court jury hearing the trial of two men, accused of a fatal attack on a 26-year-old man in a Morrisons supermarket, have been sent home for the night.
Nick Rogers was assaulted by Lee Monk, 20, and his uncle John Monk, 44, after the three met while shopping in the store in Wymondham, shortly after 7.30pm on July 17. Mr Rogers died in hospital the following day, after suffering a “catastrophic” brain injury.
Both Lee Monk, of Silfield Road, Wymondham, and John Monk, of Albini Way, Wymondham, have denied murder. They also both deny assault occasioning actual bodily harm to Leo Wardrop, who was a friend of Mr Rogers and was with him in the supermarket.
The jury went out for about two hours after Judge Stephen Holt summed up the case and will carry on with their deliberations when they return on Tuesday.
