The jury in the trial of two men accused of murdering a 26-year-old man following a fight in a Morrisons supermarket have been sent home for the day.

Nick Rogers was assaulted by Lee Monk, 20, and his uncle John Monk, 44, when the three met while shopping at the Wymondham store, shortly after 7.30pm on July 17.

Mr Rogers died in hospital the following day.

Lee Monk, of Silfield Road, Wymondham, and John Monk, of Albini Way, Wymondham, have gone on trial at Norwich Crown Court after pleading not guilty to Mr Rogers’s murder on July 18.

The jury in the case retired at around 10.40am on Tuesday to consider its verdict. But after more than five hours of deliberation, it was yet to reach a decision by 4.20pm and was sent home for the day.

The jury is due to return at 10am on Wednesday.

Lee Monk and John Monk also deny assault occasioning actual bodily harm to Leo Wardrop on July 17.
