Jake Killick carried out his sex attacks and three robberies just two days after he had been interviewed by police about an alleged rape in Thetford, just days after he had just been released from jail, Norwich Crown Court heard.

Chris Paxton, prosecuting, said Killick was interviewed about a rape allegation on March 28 last year and then two days later he had carried out his attacks which he described as a 'crime spree by a sexual predator'.

'He was marauding through the streets of this city and imposing his sexual will on a number of women.'

He said the first victim was grabbed as she was walking to work about 4.20am, along Riverside Road and after getting hold of her hair he tried to pull her into a side road, but she managed to fight him off by holding onto a road sign and screaming.

Mr Paxton said that Killick had made off but then targeted an 18 year-old on her way to work, who was walking through Chapelfield Gardens.

He also grabbed her hair and pulled her into an alleyway where he raped her.

Mr Paxton said that he then forced her to go with him to Ten Bell Court where he again repeatedly raped her by garages and in a doorway.

Mr Paxton said the woman was so terrified she felt she had no choice but to comply as he threatened to hurt her or murder her if she told anyone.

He said that a resident was woken by noises and managed to come to the rescue of the victim by allowing her to come into her home and she called police.

He said Killick left the scene and walked into the city centre where he approached another woman from behind, slapping her bottom, and then grabbed a 16 year-old girl in St Stephen's underpass as she was walking to City College Norwich.

'He grabbed her by the hair and pinned her up against a wall.' Mr Paxton said that the prosecution say that his motive was a sexual one as he was holding her wrists and preventing her getting away.

Mr Paxton said the girl managed to escape and when she got to college police were contacted.

Meanwhile Killick is also alleged to have robbed a man in Chapelfield Gardens of his mobile phone and also robbed an unidentified victim of his phone at the bus station before robbing a third man in London Street.

Mr Paxton said the defendant stole £20 off a man who had just taken the cash from a machine.

Killick was finally arrested as he was waiting for a train to Thetford at Norwich station.

Killick has denied rape, robbery, sex assault and false imprisonment with intent to commit a sexual offence.

Killick, currently of HMP Whitemoor, has also denied two other charges - rape and breaching a restraining order - both on January 5, last year.

The trial continues.
