Singers, musicians, choirs and groups are being invited to show off their tuneful talents as part of a competition to highlight Gorleston’s melodious prowess - and it’s beach side bandstand.
The town’s Rotary club is organising the Gorleston Makes Music contest and is now on the lookout for local amateur artists who would like to perform on stage, and be in with a chance of winning a top cash prize.
Singers and groups all ages and all musical genres are encouraged to put themselves forward for auditions, which will be held at the Pavilion Theatre in July.
Three acts will then be chosen to go through to the grand final on Gorleston band stand where they will perform in front of a panel of judges, who will chose the winner with help from the large audience that is expected to turn out in the summer sun.
The contest hopes to give local amateur talent a chance in the spotlight and unearth groups that can perform on Gorleston’s grand band stand throughout the summer season.
Groups, solo artists and any other musical act interested in getting involved can request an entry form by emailing stuarthall1947@live.co.uk Forms should be completed and returned by June 30, along with a £20 entry fee.
