Inquest to be opened into death of inmate at Norwich Prison

An inquest is to be opened tomorrow into the death of an inmate who died at Norwich Prison.

Jack Davies-O’Neill, 19, a prisoner at the Knox Road jail, was found unresponsive in his cell by prison staff on Sunday, December 15 and later died. An inquest into his death will be opened by Norfolk coroner Jacqueline Lake.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Justice said As with all deaths in custody, the Independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will conduct an investigation.”
