Police are appealing for witnesses after a car hit a teenage cyclist in Norwich and drove off.

The crash happened on Monday November 12 between 2.30pm and 2.40pm on Newmarket Road close to the traffic lights at the Christchurch Road junction.

A teenage girl was on her bicycle when the 4x4 car hit her front wheel.

The wheel buckled and as the 16-year-old girl approached the car, the driver drove off heading along the A11 towards the city centre.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the hit-and-run and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident or has information about it.

Witnesses should contact Sergeant Joanne Minnis at Bethel Street Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
