A handbag was stolen from a 63-year-old woman after she fell asleep on a bench in Wensum Park in Norwich last week.

It happened on Monday, 26 May at about 2pm.

PC Lee Mariner, investigating officer, said: “The 63-year-old victim had fallen asleep with her handbag next to her. She was suddenly woken to find a man grabbing her bag and making off on a bike towards Drayton Road.”

The bag contained a phone, purse and keys and the suspect is described as black, bald and wearing grey trousers.

Anyone with information should contact PC Mariner at Norwich North Police Station on 101.
