A bag-snatcher with a ginger goatee beard grabbed and made-off with a young woman’s handbag as she was pushing a pram in a north Norfolk seaside village.

The woman, in her 20s, was pushing the pram through the car park near Mundesley’s Gold Park, on Beach Road, at about 2.10pm on September 2.

A man approached her and grabbed hold of the strap of her handbag from her shoulder.

The woman tried to stop the man but he made off through Gold Park and towards the bus shelter. She was not injured.

The suspect is described as white, in his 30s, tall and thin, with a ginger goatee beard, and a distinctive tattoo down his right arm. He was wearing a black T-shirt and a black beanie hat.

It is believed he was seen a short time before the attack sitting on benches opposite the post office in the centre of the village.

Anyone who saw what happened, or with information, should contact DC Tom Gibbs on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 55111.

  • Aye, this chappie seems quite distinctive, and Mundesley is a small village so it's quite likely that the perpetrator is from elsewhere. You'd have to be invisible to pull this off and live in Mundesley. So I reckon an outsider at work is what we have here. Also taking into account you would not come to Mundesley just to pinch a hand bag.
