It will be another five weeks before a police review into what happened during a 'lawless' weekend in Cromer will be ready, a meeting heard.

Police and Cromer Commissioner Lorne Green held a police accountability forum in Aylsham on Tuesday, September 12, and Chief Constable Simon Bailey said the recommendations from the review would be available by the middle of October.

It comes just a week after the two men spoke in front of about 100 people at a meeting in Cromer, set up to allow residents and businesses to have their say. The emphatic message from Mr Bailey to the people of Cromer then, following the weekend of August 18-20, which saw the town under siege, was that it would not happen again

Businesses had closed their doors as the town went into 'lockdown' following a rape and a series of thefts and disturbances after the arrival of a group of travellers.
