Emergency services were called to a car on fire near to the Roman Catholic Cathedral during this afternoon’s rush hour.

Fire crews from Carrow and Earlham were called to the vehicle fire which happened on Convent Road, near to the cathedral, shortly before 4.30pm.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

A spokesman in the Norfolk police control room said they also attended but only to provide traffic control.
