A driver stopped by police in Norwich was found to have no licence or insurance and had seven people in their car.

Police stopped the motorist on Boundary Road on Sunday and officers found seven people in the Rover saloon, including two children in the footwell.

The driver was reported for no licence, no insurance and carrying passengers in a dangerous manner.

Sgt Chris Harris, of Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing, said: 'It is important to make sure all occupants are wearing seatbelts and children are in correct car seats for their height and weight. Not wearing a seatbelt is one of the fatal four, a main factor in fatal and serious injury collisions and it's disappointing to hear after September's seatbelt campaign and Project Edward.

'We will continue to target occupants of vehicles who do not wear their seatbelts.'

The stop was part of an hour long fatal four roadcheck.
